CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

At St. Michael's, we understand Christian Education to be a life-long pilgrimage of growing in faith and knowledge.

The Education Committee coordinates a variety of programs for adults and children at 9:15  (between the 8:00 and the 10:30 services).  Books, films, discussion, and crafts are used to enhance our understanding of God's word.  Two weekly Bible studies are held.

The young children also use the new Godly Play curriculum which focuses on stories from the Old Testament.

DUCATION FOR MINISTRY

Education for Ministry (EfM)is an education by extension program of the Episcopal Seminary or the University of the South.  The course covers the Bible, Church history, theology, and related topics.  The seminar time is spent in worship, discussion of the readings, and in working together on a theological reflection.

The goal of EfM is to help lay people be better prepared to carry out their baptismal ministries in the world.
