The Rev. W. Richard Hamlin came to St. Michael's in 2004. Father Dick, as he is called, came from serving congregations in western New York state. He has advanced degrees in Anthropology and Sociology. Father Dick received his Masters of Divinity at Bexley Hall Seminary and was ordained in 1992. Father Dick brings to St. Michael's a wealth of historical and worldly knowledge, as well as his wife of 40 years, Claudia. Claudia has a background in banking and she has a voice of an angel. She participates in St. Michael's choir and the Choral Chorus and the Steiner Chorale at Michigan State University.
Father Dick has contributed to numerous national and diocesan efforts, most recently on the following projects: The Standing Commission on Stewardship and Development of the Episcopal Church of America (2000-2006, serving as co-chair 03-06), Standing Committee on the Diocese of Michigan (2005-2009, serving as president 08-09). Father Dick says:

to deepen their faith and understanding through
worship, study, and serving our communities."

Each Christmas, Father Dick and Claudia have an open house. They prepare a feast of delicacies, and a good time is had by all!
